Documentation overview

Summarized from the ZAX NOVA buyer documentation packaged with version 1.0.2. Madara and WP Manga are required and not included.

Installation

Install Madara and WP Manga first, then upload and activate the zax-nova theme folder.

  • Use WordPress 6.0+ with PHP 8.0+ (PHP 8.2 used in the tested environment).
  • Install the Madara parent theme and WP Manga before ZAX NOVA. Neither is bundled.
  • Back up site files and database before installing or updating.
  • Upload the zax-nova folder via Appearance → Themes → Add New → Upload, or place it under wp-content/themes/.
  • Confirm admin notices: Madara and WP Manga must be present.

Requirements

Required platform and ecosystem dependencies, plus optional integrations.

  • Required: WordPress, Madara (not included), WP Manga (not included).
  • Tested stack for this showcase release: WordPress 7.0.1, PHP 8.2, Madara 2.4.1, WP Manga 2.4.1.
  • Optional: Fluent Forms, coin systems, myCRED, SEO plugins, PWA/push, notification plugins, Zaxment, Zax Game.
  • ZAX NOVA does not redistribute Madara, WP Manga, premium third-party plugins, demo databases, or private credentials.
  • Other Madara or WP Manga versions are not certified—test on staging before upgrading.

Activation

After activation, WordPress should report ZAX NOVA as a Madara child theme by ZAX MILLION.

  • Theme name: ZAX NOVA.
  • Author: ZAX MILLION.
  • Version: 1.0.2.
  • Parent: Madara.
  • Text domain: zax-nova.

Homepage

Assign a ZAX Home template and set it as the site front page.

  • Create a page and assign the ZAX Home template (or another ZAX NOVA home template).
  • Set that page as the homepage under Settings → Reading.
  • Clear page caches after changing the homepage.

Series pages

Confirm WP Manga series content under Madara, then use ZAX NOVA series templates.

  • Ensure WP Manga post types and chapters work with Madara defaults first.
  • ZAX NOVA routes series UI primarily through custom template-zax-* templates and helpers.
  • Prefer modern ZAX NOVA templates over legacy Madara single overrides when available.

Reader

Chapter reading uses ZAX NOVA reader templates on top of Madara and WP Manga content.

  • Verify chapter reading under Madara and WP Manga before customizing.
  • Use ZAX NOVA reader templates for the public reading chrome and navigation.
  • Child-theme template overrides can break after Madara or WP Manga updates—diff carefully before going live.

Theme settings

Configure branding, URLs, shortcodes, and feature flags from the ZAX NOVA admin menu.

  • Open ZAX NOVA in the WordPress admin menu.
  • Configure colors / light-dark branding.
  • Set SEO, social, Discord, Support, and Docs URLs only when you have values—leave empty if unused.
  • Configure coins shop shortcodes (PayPal / crypto / support forms) when needed.
  • Use feature flags for optional modules; leave incomplete scaffolds off.
  • Internal option keys may retain legacy names for upgrade compatibility—do not rename them manually.

Comments

Core comments respect WordPress Discussion settings; advanced modules are optional.

  • Guest comments respect WordPress Discussion moderation settings.
  • Optional live-comment or reaction modules are feature-flagged.
  • Configure spam tools and moderation as part of normal WordPress operations.

Notifications

Theme notifications are optional and should stay off until dependencies are confirmed.

  • Enable notifications only through Feature Flags after confirming dependencies.
  • Incomplete notification scaffolds must stay disabled in production.
  • Site operators own privacy obligations for any notification or push endpoints they enable.

Gamification

Optional engagement features that remain disabled until intentionally enabled.

  • Enable gamification only after confirming required dependencies.
  • Do not advertise incomplete feature-flag scaffolds as production-ready.
  • Keep incomplete modules disabled on live sites.

Shop integrations

Shop and coins flows depend on optional plugins and your own shortcodes.

  • Install optional myCRED (or another coin plugin) if you need coin balances.
  • Optional Fluent Forms can power crypto/support forms—paste your own shortcodes.
  • Set Discord/community and support URLs in Theme Options when ready.
  • Empty URLs and empty shortcodes will not render dead buttons.

PWA

PWA and service worker support is optional and disabled by default.

  • Enable PWA only from Feature Flags / PWA settings when you intend to use it.
  • When enabled, the app name is ZAX NOVA with a versioned cache namespace (zax-nova-v1.0.2).
  • Admin, login, checkout, coins, and private user paths are not cached.
  • Push systems remain inactive until configured.

Updating

Replace the theme package carefully after staging validation.

  • Back up files and database.
  • Test the new build on staging first.
  • Replace the zax-nova theme folder or upload the new ZIP.
  • Clear caches and re-test homepage, series, reader, search, dashboard, and settings.
  • Diff child-theme overrides against new Madara or WP Manga templates before updating live sites.

Troubleshooting

Start with dependencies, feature flags, and a clean staging reproduction.

  • Confirm Madara 2.4.1 and WP Manga 2.4.1 (or your target versions) are installed and active.
  • Disable incomplete feature flags while diagnosing issues.
  • Reproduce on a staging site with caching disabled.
  • Note WordPress, PHP, Madara, and WP Manga versions when requesting support.
  • Unset Discord, support, docs, and form shortcode fields stay empty by design—do not expect invented defaults.
